What is a real-time digital twin?
A spatially accurate, interactive 3D model of a real place and the project proposed for it. It is built with game-engine technology and real-world geospatial data, so anyone can explore it the way they would a video game or a map, on any device, without technical skills.
How is it different from a render or a fly-through animation?
A render is one fixed picture and a fly-through is one fixed path. A digital twin is live: you choose where to look, compare design options, switch data layers on and off, and get answers to questions on the spot instead of waiting for new drawings.
When should a digital twin be introduced to a project?
